Form 1099-DIV (Rev. January 2022) and Instructions!

On December 2, 2021, the IRS published Form 1099-DIV (Rev. January 2022), and then on December 15, 2021, Instructions for Form 1099-DIV (Rev. January 2022). Similar to other newly revised Forms 1099, this Form 1099-DIV is a continuous use form and includes:

  • New Box 11, FATCA filing requirement. This checkbox now has its own box number 11.
  • Old box numbers 11 through 15 have been renumbered 12 through 16, respectively.
  • Removal of instructional references to Form 1040-SR.
  • Reference to the current General Instructions for Certain Information Returns for filing and furnishing instructions, due dates, and for filing or furnishing extensions.
